Tugboat Fleet of DeloPorts turns four years old

December 23, 2021, marks the fourth anniversary of establishment of the tugboat fleet of the Delo Service Company (SC Delo), a part of DeloPorts, the stevedoring asset of the Delo Group.

On that day in 2017, SC Delo accepted the first three tugboats produced by Damen Shipyards Group. The tugs which received the name «Delovoy» with the relative numbering. Today there are six tugboats in the fleet in total.

The last years have shown that the decision to create own tugboat fleet was more than rational and justified.

In 2021, DeloPorts completed the implementation of the large investment project aimed at reconstruction of container and grain terminals. As the result the two new deep-water berths were launched, which allows simultaneous mooring of two vessels, including ocean-type ones.

The professionalism of tugboat crews provides quick and safe mooring of all arriving vessels, which makes operations as efficient and comfortable as possible for our customers.

Over the years of existence of the SC Delo tugboat fleet 4932 mooring operations were carried out.

Good working relations are established with the pilot service of FSUE Azov-Black Sea Basin Branch of Rosmorport.

Pilots play an important role in achieving uninterrupted and accident-free performance during all operations at the berths of the DeloPorts terminals. This especially is true for the mooring operations in unfavorable weather conditions.

The same effective cooperation was established with all other port services, which facilitates the successful achievement of the tasks.

Igor Yakovenko, the CEO of DeloPorts, congratulating the SC Delo employees on the fourth anniversary of the fleet formation, noted: «Having own tugboat fleet for the company that owns eight berths, and two of them are the deepest in the Azov-Black Sea basin, is the vital component of the safe operations and increasing efficiency of our terminals.  We value trust of our customers and guarantee responsiveness and quality. I thank all the employees of SC Delo, our colleagues from port services, the pilot staff of the basin branch of Rosmorport. We are confident that in the future the common work will be effective».

NUTEP Container terminal set a record for simultaneous processing of vessels

On December 7, 2021 the NUTEP container terminal, part of DeloPorts, a stevedoring asset of the Delo Group, at the same time processed four container vessels on the moorings, thereby having set a terminal record.

The deep-water berth №38 was launched in 2019 within the large investment program for development of port infrastructure of DeloPorts. Two container vessels were moored to this deep-sea berth at once, what demonstrates the opportunity of high efficiency usage of all the advantages of the berth, both in length and in depth.

Due to the use of the latest modern stevedoring equipment and the coordinated operations of proficient workers' teams, four vessels were successfully processed simultaneously at the NUTEP terminal.

The crew of the tugboats of the Delo Service Company also made its invaluable contribution to the organization and implementation of the new technology. They were responsible for the fastest and the safest mooring of all vessels to the berthing front.

Igor Yakovenko, the CEO of DeloPorts, commented: "This idea was on the surface. When NUTEP handles four vessels simultaneously, we reduce the their inefficient idle times on raid, especially after the end of the period of cross weather.

This also reduces the costs and customers appreciate this . He also noted: «Today, an experiment has actually been conducted, the theoretical computations of our specialists have been tested, the interaction between coastal collectives and tugboat crews has been verified”.

We are very pleased with the achieved success and the invaluable experience of working in the new conditions for us. Undoubtedly, such a practice will develop, because providing customers with prompt and high-quality services is one of our priorities".

NUTEP Container Terminal attracted additional credit of 3.5 billion rubles from Raiffeisenbank

In October 2021, NUTEP, a part of DeloPorts, a stevedoring asset of the Delo Group, attracted additional credit funds from Raiffeisenbank in the amount of 3.5 billion rubles. The loan was provided for a period of five years on the security of the berth mortgage. DeloPorts acts as a guarantor for the loan, an additional agreement was signed within the framework of the current loan agreement between the bank and the stevedoring company.

Andrey Yashchenko, Senior Vice-President on Economy and Finance at the Management Company “Delo“, commenting on the loan agreement, said: “This year marks 10 years of the successful and trusting cooperation between NUTEP and Raiffeisenbank. It is gratifying that our interaction is expanding, we appreciate the professionalism of our time-tested partners, who are always ready to offer the best and optimal financial solutions for our projects. "

“We are pleased to be a reliable partner of the Delo Group, providing long-term financing for the key projects of the holding for many years,” - said Dmitry Sredin, Head of the Raiffeisenbank Department on Cooperation with Major Companies - “As part of the new loan tranche, we are expanding our cooperation with one of the most hi-tech modern container terminals in the country.”

Earlier, Raiffeisenbank participated in financing the construction of a new deep-water berth for the NUTEP Container Terminal.

DeloPorts cargo turnover for 9 months of 2021 increased by 12%.

The cargo turnover of DeloPorts, which operates container and grain terminals of Delo Group in Novorossiysk, for three quarters of 2021 increased by 12% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 8.8 million tons.

The growth in the turnover of DeloPorts for 9 months of 2021 occurred against the background of opposite vectors of the logistics market behavior. In particular, container turnover in Russian ports grew by 7%, while grain exports across the country fell by 2% after changes in regulation from the beginning of this year.

NUTEP Container Terminal,a part of DeloPorts, increased the volume of container handling by 17% to 414 thousand TEU (standard container in twenty-foot equivalent) during this period. In the 3rd quarter of 2021, it processed almost 117 thousand TEUs (an increase of 17%).

The volume of grain transshipment at the KSK terminal, which is part of DeloPorts, practically did not change during the period under review and amounted to 3.5 million tons.  In the 3rd quarter of 2021, handling decreased by 5.5% and amounted to 1.5 million tons.  At the same time, in the new grain season, KSK is the leader in terms of grain transshipment among the deep-water ports of Russia.

«Container turnover continues to grow steadily amid favorable external factors.  Transshipment of grain following the results of 9 months of this year went almost to zero. We associate this, first of all, with the current export duties, since world prices for wheat were breaking records throughout the third quarter.  However, we believe that the group's grain handling results are good, given that overall grain handling in ports fell by almost 10 percent. We expect that in the fourth quarter the market will stabilize, and by the end of 2021 we will reach the planned indicators of transshipment at KSK,» - said Igor Yakovenko, Chief Executive Officer of DeloPorts.

Delo Service Company, which operates its own modern tugboats fleet at the Group's terminals in Novorossiysk, has increased the volume of mooring services by 34% to 1227, which reflects an increase in the number of vessel calls to Delo Group assets.

KSK became the first among deep-water terminals in August

In August 2021, the KSK Grain Terminal, a part of DeloPorts, a stevedore asset of Delo Group, took the first place in grain transshipment among all deep-water terminals of the Azov-Black Sea basin, having shipped 600 thousand tons (in August 2020 - 474 thousand tons).

In general, for two months of the new grain season, the KSK terminal handled 914.5 thousand tons of grain cargo for export, and by this indicator it outstripped all competitors in the region of presence.

Commenting on the achievements, Chief Executive Officer of the terminal, Alexander Trukhanovich, noted: “In July of this year, a new deep-water berth KSK No. 40A was put into operation, the construction of which completed a large investment program for the reconstruction of the terminal. As we can see, investments immediately began to have an effect, the start of the grain season went well, and we hope to end the year with a new record.

In contrast to the beginning of the last season, cars prevail in this one among the transport vehicles. To prevent the formation of a queue, further improvement of the process of their unloading was required. The technological scheme was corrected and due to the improvement of the working method the number of vehicles processed every day surely exceeds the figure of 600 units ”.

DeloPorts summed up the results of two years of operation of berth No. 38 of the NUTEP Container Terminal

DeloPorts, a stevedore holding of Delo Group, has summed up the results of two years of operation of the deep-water berth No. 38, commissioned on August 30, 2019, built as part of a major investment project for the reconstruction of the NUTEP Container Terminal.

The analysis of their results once again confirmed the effectiveness and timeliness of the earlier decisions on the construction of this facility.

The commissioning of the berth immediately had a positive effect on the volume of container flow passing through the terminal, which by the end of 2020 increased by 30% compared to 2019, and by the end of 7 months of 2021 - by 19% compared to the same period last year. Currently, more than half of NUTEP's containers handled at berth No. 38 over the two years of operation, more than 540 thousand TEUs (53% of the total volume) have passed through it, and these indicators continue to grow. In general, the terminal's capacity after the berth was put into operation increased to 700 thousand TEUs per year.

The increase in the volume of containers handled directly affected the share of NUTEP in this market segment - by the end of 2020, it grew in the Novorossiysk transport hub by 13%, to 62%, and in 7 months of 2021 - by another 4.7%. On a Russian scale, the increase was 2% and 1.2%, respectively, to 9.2% in 2020 and to 10.4% in 7 months of this year. The launch of the berth made it possible not only to attract the ocean service ME3 of the Maersk line (container ships of the Panamax class with a capacity of 6500-7100 TEUs) and the ZIM feeder service (vessels with a capacity of up to 3500 TEUs), but also expanded the variability of NUTEP. Simultaneous handling of three vessels at the terminal berths made it possible to satisfy all customer requests, especially in the autumn-winter period, reduced to naught the waiting time for vessels in the roadstead before they were placed for unloading / loading in favorable weather conditions and to manage with minimal loss of time in stormy weather.

Another component of the launch of the berth was the increase in the territory, including by 4 hectares of warehouse - the most important segment of the terminal. In addition, it made it possible to install new heavy equipment in May 2021 - five RTG container gantry cranes. Due to their characteristics, the total capacity of the NUTEP warehouse increased by another 15% and ensured the receipt and dispatch of additional cargo volumes.

Commenting on the results of the two-year operation of berth No. 38, Igor Yakovenko, General Director of DeloPorts, noted: «Having invested quite significant funds in this investment project, we expected comparable results from its implementation. It is gratifying to admit today that we were not mistaken in our expectations. Deep-water berth No. 38 has become more than just a new hydraulic structure. In fact, he transferred the terminal to a different, higher level of operation since the synergistic effect from its operation exceeded all forecasts. This is clearly visible both in the operational and financial results and externally - NUTEP has become a powerful modern container hub capable of satisfying all the needs of our customers».

Commenting on the results, Igor Yakovenko, Сhief Executive Officer of DeloPorts, noted: “According to the results of the first half of 2021, the holding company showed significant growth in the container and grain segments by increasing the operating efficiency of the terminals. In the face of serious competition, the well-coordinated work of the terminals of KSK, NUTEP and Delo Service Company gave a noticeable synergistic effect and allowed us to achieve significant growth in revenue and EBITDA, as well as an increase in business margins.

DeloPorts has consistently got there more than comfortable debt burden in terms of the net debt / EBITDA ratio, first, in connection with the completion of work within the framework of a large investment project “Reconstruction of the grain terminal with a cargo turnover of 2.5 million tons per year with an increase in cargo turnover to 4 million tons per year”. We plan to see the positive results of the commissioned in July 2021 the deep-water berth No. 40A at the KSK Grain Terminal by the end of this year. "

DeloPorts’ throughput increased by 13% in 6 months 2021

The throughput of the Delo Group’s stevedore terminals DeloPorts increased by 13% in January-June 2021 compared to 2020 and reached 5.7 mln tons.

DeloPorts CEO Igor Yakovenko commented on the results: “In the first quarter of 2021 the Group increased throughput above the market in both segments – containers and grain – due to the growth of operating efficiency. Given the throughput growth at the deep-water container berth, the TEU handling at container terminal increased by 17% in 6 months 2021, surpassing the overall container throughput growth rate of Russian sea ports that reached 7% in this period. Grain handling at our terminal increased by 4% compared to the general decline in deep-water grain export by 5%.

The Group gradually invests in creating new storage and handling capacities. We already introduced a successful deep-water container berth and last year the Company increased grain storage capacity to 230 thous. tons. In July Delo Group launched a new deep-water grain berth 40A with length 309 meters and depth 16.9 meters. This allows us to create new services and opportunities for our clients. Now we can receive 100 thous. tons DWT vessels with maximum draught of 14.4 meters”.

Berth No. 40A of the reconstructed KSK terminal was put into operation

On July 20, 2021, Delo Group put into operation a new deep-water berth No. 40A. Its length is 309 meters, the total area is almost 7.7 thousand square meters. During the construction, the most modern technologies were used to increase economic efficiency and safety.

The berth was constructed as part of a major investment project “Reconstruction of KSK Grain Terminal”, the cost of the work amounted to about USD 68 million of the Group's own funds. At the end of 2020 and the first half of this year, the KSK terminal ranks second in Russia in terms of transshipment volumes.

The depth near the berth has been brought to 16.9 meters, which makes it the deepest in the Azov-Black Sea basin. This allows to receive vessels with deadweight up to 100 thousand tons and maximum draft up to 14.4 meters. Prior to its commissioning, KSK Grain Terminal could receive grain carriers with a maximum carrying capacity of up to 50 thousand tons. With the launch of the berth, the planned capacity of KSK increased to 7 million tons per year.

The launch of a modernized port infrastructure facility of this scale has not only regional but also federal significance. The opening was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut, Deputy Head of Rosmorrechflot Konstantin Anisimov, representatives of federal executive authorities, the leadership of Krasnodar Krai and its districts, other subjects of the Southern Federal District, Novorossiysk, the second shareholder of the KSK company “Cargill”, central offices of credit institutions, business structures, their regional offices, and the largest clients of the terminal.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the head and owner of Delo Group Sergey Shishkarev noted: “Today we are not just opening a new modern port infrastructure facility. We mark the completion of a major comprehensive investment project launched in 2015 for the reconstruction of the NUTEP and KSK terminals. The total volume of investments made by the Group in this project amounted to USD 335 million of its own funds alone, without attracting government investments.

Nevertheless, all our investment projects are always calculated taking into account the implementation of the strategic objectives of the state and national projects. The development of logistics for Russian agricultural exports will strengthen the role of Russia in the world grain market, open new sales markets for Russian farmers in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The group has always associated itself with the economic system of our country, its principle is "Developing with the economy, developing for the economy."

According to Oksana Lut, about 90% of domestic grain exports go by sea, mostly through the Azov-Black Sea ports. Taking this into account, Novorossiysk remains one of the most important transport arteries - in the past season, a third of the total volume of supplies passed through this port, with more than 10% accounted for by the KSK terminal.

As the Deputy Minister noted, the industry plans to increase grain production every year. The long-term strategy for the development of the grain complex assumes a significant increase in the harvest in the next 10 years. "Projects like this are very important from the point of view of further increasing exports and improving transport accessibility," - said Oksana Lut.

Most of the speakers noted that the successful implementation of such large investment projects in our difficult times testifies to business confidence in the steps of the Russian leadership to develop the country's economy and to a definite support for them by the business community.

During the festive event, a symbolic launch of the grain loading of the first vessel moored at the new berth - the Belfuji bulk carrier with a deadweight of 63.5 thousand tons was given.

S&P affirmed DeloPorts rating at B+ based on the results of 2020 with stable outlook

On April 15, 2021, the rating Agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) confirmed the long-term rating of DeloPorts (a stevedore asset of Delo Group) at B + level with a Stable forecast at the end of 2020.

Despite the pandemic, due to an increase in grain and container handling, the results of DeloPorts in the past year were better than expected. One of the factors that contributed to this was the launch of deep-water berth No. 38 in 2019.

According to S&P estimates, the EBITDA growth of DeloPorts was 46%, the ratio of funds from operating activities (FFO) to debt showed 26% versus 20% in the baseline scenario of the rating agency.

At the same time, the “Stable” forecast given by the agency implies that DeloPorts has the potential and prerequisites to maintain the weighted average FFO / debt ratio at the level of 25% -30% in the next three years. As noted by S&P, it was also influenced by the development strategy adopted by Delo Group, which does not imply the acquisition of new assets using borrowed funds in the next two years but plans to invest in organic growth.

The same forecast considers potential positive processes in the Russian economy in 2021 and their impact on the activities of the stevedore asset.

The agency assessed the liquidity of DeloPorts as adequate, noted the company's ability to manage it having access to bank financing and capital markets.

S&P predicts an increase in container turnover in 2021–2022 by 8–12% per year, grain turnover by 5–7%, adjusted EBITDA margin at 78% –80% as the next baseline scenario for DeloPorts soon.

Commenting on the agency's research and conclusions, Igor Yakovenko, Chief Executive Officer of DeloPorts, said: “We see that the implemented investment projects, for example, deep-water container berth No. 38, have a significant positive impact on the operating activities of our assets and on the image of the Company. In summer we plan to launch a deep-water grain berth No. 40A. I am sure that the subsequent effect will be reflected in the next study of the rating agency and in the overall rating of DeloPorts”.

Delo Group and Rosatom State Corporation transferring port terminals in Novorossiysk to use green wind energy

Delo Group, the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia, and Atomenergoprom, which consolidates the civil assets of ROSATOM, on April 13, 2021 as part of the international exhibition TransRussia-2021 signed an agreement on the implementation of joint measures aimed to facilitate the transition of logistics terminals to the use of low-carbon green energy sources.

The agreement was signed by Igor Yakovenko, Chief Executive Officer of Management Company Delo, the parent company of Delo Group, and Ekaterina Lyakhova, Director for Investment and Operational Effectiveness Management, ROSATOM (Chairman).

One of the first steps in the implementation of this agreement provides for the organization of the supply of electricity generated from wind energy to the largest terminals in the Azov-Black Sea region of Russia NUTEP Container Terminal and KSK Grain Terminal in Novorossiysk (part of DeloPorts, the Group's stevedore asset).

Atomenergopromsbyt (part of NovaWind - the wind energy division of Rosatom State Corporation) was the partner in the new project.

The contractual relationship establishes that from January 1, 2022, the terminals will completely switch to the use of electricity generated at wind farms.

KSK and NUTEP became the first large port infrastructure facilities in Russia to announce the transition to the use of renewable energy.

“Rosatom is consistently implementing a strategy to produce low-carbon energy based on nuclear and wind power generation. Currently, more and more companies are choosing the path of sustainable business development.

In many ways, this becomes the key to competitiveness and long-term commercial success. And I hope that today's agreement is only the first step towards the transition of enterprises in the logistics industry in Russia to the use of low-carbon energy sources”, - said Yekaterina Lyakhova.

The annual throughput of NUTEP is 700 thousand TEUs, the container throughput of the terminal in 2020 reached 487 thousand TEUs. The share of NUTEP in the container turnover of the Azov-Black Sea basin is 61%, in Russia - 9%. The terminal's clients are the largest international lines. The throughput capacity of the KSK Grain Terminal is 6 million tons per year (after the completion of the reconstruction in 2021 - up to 7 million tons), in 2020 the terminal handled more than 5.1 million tons of grain. The share of KSK in the Russian grain export in 2020 reached 12%.

The «green port» project will allow the use of electricity production based on low-carbon green energy sources (RES) for the purpose of facilitating exports from the Russian Federation with minimal CO2 emissions. It will affect the reduction in NUTEP and KSK's calculated indicators for reporting indirect emissions greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 2) and other indirect carbon emissions (Scope 3) for their customers. Depending on the methodology adopted by the European Union, the indicators can reduce the value of the «carbon tax» on exports to the European Union for Russian exporters.

According to NovaWind, the potential reduction in CO2 emissions due to the transition to the use of wind energy according to NUTEP and KSK will reach 6.8 and 5.7 thousand tons of CO2 / year, respectively (in relation to traditional sources of electrical energy, provided that natural gas).

“One of the strategic objectives of Delo Group is the development of port and terminal infrastructure in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and minimal impact on the environment. The «green port» project at DeloPorts enterprises is a pilot, but a long-term one. We intend to expand and develop it at other enterprises of the Group. The NUTEP and KSK terminals are the most modern in the South of Russia, for their modernization the Group is implementing a large-scale investment program aimed at expanding capacity and purchasing the latest equipment. We strive to comply with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles and we are grateful to our partners in ROSATOM for their help and assistance in the Green Port project,” - Igor Yakovenko commented on the signed agreement.

NUTEP sets record for container turnover second month in row

NUTEP Container Terminal (part of DeloPorts, a stevedore asset of the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia, Delo Group) set a record handling 58,577 TEUs in March 2021. The previous one 51,264 TEUs, dated February 2021, lasted only a month.

In general, the volume of container handling through the NUTEP terminal for the first quarter of 2021 increased by almost 28 thousand TEUs compared to the same period last year and amounted to 153,494 TEUs.

Yury Matvienko, Chief Executive Officer of NUTEP, commenting on the achieved results, noted: “The first quarter of this year was very difficult for NUTEP - there is frequent stormy weather, which disrupted the rhythm of setting and handling of vessels to the berth, and objectively increased cargo traffic, which responded to market fluctuations. However, for our company, the quality of customer service has always been and remains in the first place. Both employees and technology were ready to work in difficult conditions. Special thanks to the NUTEP team, who showed real dedication. As we can see, the results for March and the first quarter of 2021 speak for themselves. But the record figures for us are firstly an indicator of the clients’ trust, for which we are very grateful to them".

NUTEP increases its transport equipment

In March 2021, NUTEP (part of DeloPorts, a stevedore asset of the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia, Delo Group) has significantly increased its transport equipment - both in the special vehicle segment and in the segment of railway traction equipment.

In  March 2021, NUTEP (part of DeloPorts, a stevedore asset of the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia, Delo Group) has significantly increased its transport equipment - both in the special vehicle  segment and in the segment of railway traction equipment.

To optimize the containers’ unloading and loading at the berth, NUTEP purchased and is currently putting into operation seven additional specialized Terberg YT222 terminal tractors (maximum carrying capacity 38 tons, engine power 238 hp). The official dealer of Terberg in Russia, Conecranes Demag Rus, provided the equipment for the total cost of 950 thousand euros.

The most important operating condition for NUTEP and KSK (grain terminal, part of DeloPorts) is the uninterrupted supply of loaded and empty wagons along the access railway tracks. To this end, in October 2020, NUTEP entered into an agreement with Transmashholding for 69 million rubles for the construction of a six-axle diesel locomotive TEM-18DM with a capacity of 1200 hp for the needs of both terminals for shunting and removal works . At present, the locomotive has been handed over to the customer and is being put into operation. It must replace the TEM2 diesel locomotive, which is nearing the end of its service life.

Commenting on these events, Igor Yakovenko, Chief Executive Officer of DeloPorts, said: “The purchase of new vehicle  and railway equipment is an integral part of the implementation of a large comprehensive investment project for the reconstruction and expansion of NUTEP and KSK, which we plan to complete this summer with the commissioning of new grain terminal’s capacities. NUTEP terminal set a new record of container handling

In February 2021, the NUTEP container terminal (part of DeloPorts, a stevedore asset of the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia, Delo Group) set a new record, having handed over 51,264 TEUs in a month.

The previous achievement of March 2020 is surpassed by 746 TEUs. Such figures were achieved thanks to the high quality of customer service and the speed of cargo handling. The reliable reputation of NUTEP among its clients allows the terminal to remain the leader in container turnover among stevedore assets in the Azov-Black Sea basin.

Igor Yakovenko, Chief Executive Officer of DeloPorts noted: “Over the last year we have been developing organizational ties within the Group, in our case, between DeloPorts, TransContainer and Ruscon – to optimize the container cargo turnover. Thanks to the improved synergy, the increase in cargo turnover of the terminal was estimated from the start of 2021. The NUTEP was ready for this».

Expert RA Improves DeloPorts Rating Outlook

Stevedore holding DeloPorts (part of Delo Group) received an update of the rating of the Expert RA agency at the ruA level with an improved outlook from neutral to positive.

The agency revised the credit rating of the holding considering the updated methodology, operating and financial performance of the holding in the first 6 months of 2020 and positive expectations of operating and financial results in 2020-2021. The agency notes the absence of recourse on DeloPorts debt obligations, positively assessing the company's operational risk profile.

At the end of 2020, the container turnover of DeloPorts (NUTEP terminal) amounted to 487 thousand TEU, a 30% increase compared to 2019 - with a drop in container handling in all ports of the Russian Federation over the same period by 1% and an increase in the Azov-Black Sea basin - by 3%. DeloPorts increased grain handling (KSK terminal) by 43% to 5.1 million tons due to favorable market conditions and the introduction of additional grain storage capacities.

Expert RA emphasizes the importance of DeloPorts investment projects in building up the capacity of container and grain terminals. The commissioning of a deep-water container berth No. 38, which allows servicing vessels up to 10 thousand TEU, the expansion of the storage areas allowed to expand the terminal's throughput capacity to 700 thousand TEU per year. Among the competitive advantages of DeloPorts, the agency notes the construction of a grain deep-water berth No. 40a at the KSK terminal with the ability to simultaneously receive two vessels and the construction of additional silos, which will make it possible to form larger shiploads.

“The agency's positive outlook reflects our expectations for DeloPorts' operating and financial results for the foreseeable future. Successful implementation of investment projects and competent construction of operational interactions allow us to develop and grow faster than the market.

Deep-water container berth No. 38, commissioned in 2019, has already demonstrated its demand among customers. The deep-water grain berth 40a, scheduled for completion in the summer of 2021, will enable us to provide our customers with a new level of service and speed up the handling of large shiploads. The tugboats fleet of SC Delo received the sixth tugboat, which will allow us to speed up the positioning of vessels and handling of cargo within the holding”, - commented Igor Yakovenko, Chief Executive Officer of DeloPorts.

Delo Group increased the size of its own tugboats fleet

On February 8, 2021, «Delo» Service Company (part of DeloPorts, a stevedore asset of the largest transport and logistics holding in Russia, Delo Group) replenished its own tugboats fleet with the sixth multifunctional tugboat «Delovoy-6» manufactured by Damen Shipyards Group. The order was completed by the company on time and in full compliance with the terms of reference. At present, the tugboat is being accepted, and then the activities for its commissioning will begin.

The main characteristics of «Delovoy-6» are length - 22.73 m, width - 9.80 m, engine power - 3000 kW or 4080 hp, tugboat type - azimuth.

The increase in the number of the tugboats fleet is part of the ongoing plans to expand the production capabilities of stevedore assets.

Chief Executive Officer of DeloPorts, Igor Yakovenko emphasized: «After the launch of the reconstructed KSK Grain Terminal, scheduled for the summer of 2021, we expect to host grain carriers with a carrying capacity of up to 100 thousand tons. The NUTEP Container Terminal is operating at full capacity. Very soon, we will have to simultaneously moor large vessels at both terminals, so expanding our own tugboat fleet is a logical step towards solving this problem».

In addition to the towing functions itself, «Delovoy-6» is equipped with a fire-prevention system. Now the fleet of SC Delo consists of six powerful tugboats, three of which have a fire class.

DELOPORTS OPERATING RESULTS FOR 2020

The turnover of DeloPorts terminals, the stevedore asset of the largest Russian transport and logistics holding Delo Group, grew by 36% in 2020 compared to the same period last year due to the growth in grain and container handling, amounting to 11.2 million tons.

In 2020, the container terminal NUTEP (part of DeloPorts) increased its container turnover by 30% in twenty-foot equivalent, handling 486.83 thousand TEUs against the background of a general decrease in container turnover in Russian ports for 2020 by 2.3%. In the 4th quarter of 2020, the growth in container handling by NUTEP in comparison with the same period in 2019 amounted to 22.64%.

Grain handling at the KSK terminal (part of DeloPorts) in 2020 increased by 43% compared to 2019 and amounted to 5.1 mln tons. The terminal set an absolute annual record for handling grain, exceeding the 5 mln tons in December 2020. The volume of cargo handled in the 4th quarter of 2020 increased by 32% compared to the 4th quarter of 2019.

DeloPorts CEO Igor Yakovenko, assessing the positive results of 2020, outlined: “The past year, on the one hand, turned out to be difficult for the country's economy, the enterprises and the entire industries due to the coronavirus pandemic. On the other hand, due to market conditions, there was a sharp increase in container turnover and an increase in the volume of exports of Russian grain. Part of this cargo traffic went through the assets of DeloPorts and we were able to confirm that we were ready for everything in terms of throughput capacities and employees experience. Once again, we were convinced of the expediency and timeliness of the implemented investment projects of DeloPorts. This is especially true of the grain cargo, the transshipment of which at the end of the year for the first time in the history of the KSK terminal crossed the mark of 5 million tons. We were prepared in advance for such a development of events, having put into operation an additional silo park in 2019 and thereby increased the grain storage volume to 220 thousand tons and the annual throughput of the terminal to 6 million tons. The professionalism of our employees and the optimal use of production capacities made it possible in 2020 to successfully handle all the declared grain shipments through the KSK terminal, while setting absolute monthly and annual records. NUTEP also coped with an increase in container turnover by a third, thanks to an increase to 700 thousand. TEUs of the terminal's capacity after the launch of a new deep-water container berth No. 38 in 2019. In 2021, the trend of strengthening the production and human potential of DeloPorts assets will continue, we plan to launch a new grain berth No. 40A and expand the tugboats fleet of “Delo” Service Company with commissioning of the sixth modern tugboat "Delovoy-6".

In 2020, the fleet of Delo Service Company rendered 1,332 mooring services, which is 32% higher than last year's result. Transshipment of general and Ro-Ro cargo in 2020 amounted to 38 thousand tons.
