DeloPorts’ terminals increased cargo transshipment volumes in the first half of 2023

KSK and NUTEP terminals (both parts of DeloPorts, the stevedoring holding of Delo Group) summed up their results in the first half of 2023

NUTEP container terminal handled 338.4 thousand TEU during this period, which is 16% higher than in the first half of 2022. In Q2 2023, 153.2 thousand TEU were handled, 2.5% more than in Q2 2022.

KSK became Black Sea basin leader in grain transshipment in 2022/2023 season, handling 7.6 million tonnes of grain

KSK grain terminal of Delo Group’s DeloPorts stevedoring holding handled 7.6 million tonnes of grain in the 2022/2023 grain season, an increase of 46% against the previous season's result

KSK ranked first among terminals in the Black Sea basin with its share reaching 30%. The maximum monthly transshipment volume was recorded in March 2023, when KSK shipped a record 801.5 thousand tonnes of grain for export.

Delo Group invested over 9 billion roubles in the development of the grain terminal created from scratch. At the decision of Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group, the Group continues to expand the terminal's capacity and upgrade machinery and equipment in order to meet the growing grain export volumes.

"We expect that due to well-coordinated efficient work and organization of the terminal's operational activities next season we will be able to surpass the achieved transshipment figure while maintaining a consistently high level of customer service," said Igor Yakovenko, DeloPorts Director General.

Delo Group started grain transshipment at the KSK terminal in the port of Novorossiysk in 2007. The terminal's unique infrastructure allows for the transshipment of bulk, general and ro-ro cargo.

Vessels are handled at three berths, including the deepest in the Azov-Black Sea basin, which can accommodate vessels with a cargo capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes and a draft of up to 15.9 meters.

The terminal has its own certified laboratory, with its specialists checking the quality of grain for export.

Delo Group demographic program made available to all 11 000 employees of the Group

Delo Group is extending its corporate program to support maternity and childhood to all of its assets in 2023. In addition to TransContainer, where the program was launched on June 1, 2022, it is also being implemented at Ruscon, DeloTech, DeloPorts, Global Ports and the Sakhalin Shipping Company.

Thus, 11 000 employees can take advantage of the support measures in all regions of Group presence, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

The unified corporate standard to stimulate the birth rate in employees' families, improve the quality of life and support employees with children meets the goals of the Demography national project and was developed at the initiative of Sergey Shishkaryov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delo Group.

The standard provides for progressive amounts of benefits and their drastic increase with the birth of the third child, including payment of 1 million rubles for the birth of the third and subsequent children. In addition, a set of measures includes additional payments during maternity leave, additional sick leave benefits during pregnancy and upon early return from maternity leave, compensation for kindergarten and children's camp trips, expansion of the voluntary medical insurance program for employees and others.

The Group companies have introduced a “social manager” position to organize work with employees in terms of the corporate program, as well as to inform them about the system of state benefits.

Commenting on the implementation of the Group’s demographic project, Alexander Osipov, HR Director of Delo Management Company, said: “We see the demand for the program among employees. In the second half of 2022, 880 employees of TransContainer took advantage of various support measures, and eight families with many children received financial aid of one million rubles. Delo Group doubled handling speed for ferry cargoes from Turkey

Stevedoring company DeloPorts and multimodal transport operator RUSCON (both members of Delo Group) doubled the handling speed of ferries with trucks arriving from Turkey to Novorossiysk.

The processing time per vehicle unit was lowered to 17 minutes since the launch of a ferry line in November 2022. The process includes procedures from the moment the vessel is moored to the arrival of vehicles at the inland terminal: unloading, border control, initial customs inspection, transport control and equipping semi-trailers with navigation seals, as well as transportation to the inland terminal.

Reducing the processing time for vehicles will improve the quality of services and increase the throughput volume. Since November 2022 the total of 430 trucks and 191 units of other rolling equipment have been processed at the NUTEP terminal as part of the ferry line.

CEO of DeloPorts Igor Yakovenko noted: "Thanks to a well-organized cooperation of all agencies involved in handling vehicles, we managed to significantly improve the quality of the process in a short time and now we can gradually increase the volume of trucks’ traffic through the port of Novorossiysk, providing a reliable service for importers.

The project of the development of cargo ferry transportation between Russia and Turkey was designed and implemented by the order of the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation A.R.Belousov by the Ministry of Transport of Russia together with the interested federal executive bodies, business structures and with active participation of the Russian Export Center.
